Centerra Gold is proud to be part of British Columbia’s mining industry and to contribute to the well-being of the people and communities where we operate. Across our British Columbian assets, we create and share economic value through employment, wages, taxes, local procurement and community investment. Our operations support small businesses, improve local infrastructure and help build long-term economic resilience.
We believe mining can be a catalyst for lasting community benefit when done responsibly. By investing in people, partnerships and sustainability, we aim to ensure that the value created by our operations continues to support local communities well into the future.

Examples of community support include Fort St. James Family Patient Housing, the Centerra Spectrum Support Room in Mackenzie and the McLeod Lake Playground and Gazebo. These projects support local health, families and community spaces.
Meaningful engagement with communities and stakeholders is essential to building trust and transparency. We collaborate with local governments, Indigenous partners, and community organizations to share information, gather feedback, and address concerns.
Our teams maintain regular dialogue with community members through open houses, partnership meetings, and direct outreach. These relationships help us identify opportunities for improvement and ensure our operations align with local expectations and priorities.
Centerra’s Mount Milligan, Kemess and Endako properties are near several Indigenous communities. At Mount Milligan, formal agreements are in place with McLeod Lake Indian Band and Nak’azdli Whut’en First Nation. At Kemess, agreements are in place with Tsay Keh Dene First Nation, Takla First Nation and Kwadacha Nation as well as Gitxsan First Nation Wilp Nii Gyap. These agreements support jobs, business opportunities, environmental work and ongoing dialogue. At Endako, Centerra works with Stellat’en First Nation and Nadleh Whut’en First Nation on topics including reclamation and future land use.
Buying goods and services locally is one way Centerra supports northern British Columbia communities. In 2025, approximately 31% of Centerra’s spending in British Columbia went to local businesses, totalling $125 million.
Centerra maintained an active British Columbia supplier roster of 322 companies in 2025 and collaborated with 25 Indigenous-owned businesses. We also expect suppliers and contractors to meet our standards for safety, environmental responsibility, human rights and ethical business practices.
